Last week I got my Mass Effect Limited collectors Edition pre-order in along with the Bonus Pre-Order dis as well as my Ebay find of the rare Forza Motorsports 2 Limited collectors Edition. Also after calling Gamestop every day for over a week they finally got some more Assassin’s Creed Art Books in for the Pre-Order customers which made me very happy and it makes the AC Limited Edition feel like a much more valuable item.
So I recently got a Zune… I wasn’t even shopping for a portable music player but a college buddy emailed me out of the blue with a link to a sale on Buy.com where they were selling the gen 1 30GB Zunes for under $100. I figured at that price it was worth buying for nothing more than a portable hard drive.
In the short time I’ve had it I decided it’s easily one of the best portable media players you can buy. I’m not even joking when I say it’s easier to use than an iPod. No snazzy click wheel but if you can understand how to operate the prize crane at the arcade you can use a Zune.
Wirelessly syncing with the collection on my PC is an amazing feature (one which I’m told was just barely added to the software) even better is the fact that like my Xbox Live account, which has an online presence where you can see what I’ve played and when, I now have an online Zune presence which will tell you what I’ve been listening to, what my favorite songs are and how often I play them.
This is the kind of cool features that makes me praise the 360 and leaves me feeling like every other console is archaic by comparison… similarly without this kind of feature available on the iPod or Zen I’m left wondering if I would have been as excited about those products had I purchased one on sale instead?
I’m not a fan of Windows or any of Microsoft’s closed source bloat ware really, but when they enter the gaming and music markets and start delivering features that really bring something new and valuable, it’s hard to ignore.
I finally got around to taking a picture of my new truck and the Cars page has been updated to add the truck too.. Now the only vehicle I’m missing a picture of is my old Mercedes at some point I’ll have to go digging through old photos as that’s the only way I’ll be able to find a picture of it.
I’ve kept a theme within the photos on the cars page… hopefully when I find a picture of the Mercedes it will fall in line with the theme.
I signed up for the Dynasty Warriors Gundam giveaway on Achieve360points.com a while ago. To My surprise I got an email a few weeks ago announcing that I had won! It’s not exactly my type of game but winning is always fun and exciting and I can’t remember ever really winning a drawing/give away before. The only times I’ve ever won something before is when I had to work for it.
I got the game in the mail a couple of weeks ago, It had a little note from Bandai and Achieve360points congratulating me and saying that they hope I enjoy the game… I wish I had saved it but I think I threw it out with the envelope the game came in.
For whatever reason the contest winners were never announced on the site and some people started asking about it so I decided to take a picture of the prize along with one of my swanky Xbox 360 sticky notes proving it’s my photo (and not some generic stock image). I haven’t played it yet because I’m working on my % completion. It looks like a fun game though so I’m sure I’ll crack it eventually.
